An independent magazine celebrating the intricate lives of passionate people.

Behind the words, and the lens, is me – Katelyn Bulner, the self-appointed editor of mys mys magazine. My roots lie in Sri Lanka and India, my upbringing in Australia, and my life as a writer in London and Stockholm.

Whilst navigating life in Sweden, I learnt the term ‘mys’ (pronounced mees) - a word that takes on many forms but essentially translates to cosiness, contentment, and joy. I realised it’s the strangers we meet, the places we go, and the projects we take part in that can give us a sense of self, a feeling of comfort, and a community to belong to.

Led by narrative, mys mys offers a place to slow down and engage in something that’s honest and real. Even if it’s just for a moment, it takes you out of your world and into someone else’s.
